However, ensuring safety in the workplace is still a challenge faced by the country, despite efforts to improve working conditions. STATUS OF OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH IN THE COUNTRY The mining sector, one of the main drivers of Botswana's economy, has been a field where occupational safety issues have come to the fore. Accidents in mines, despite strict regulations, continue to pose persistent challenges, requiring greater vigilance and effective implementation of existing safety measures.
